The new BMW 3-Series hit the streets of Jeddah on Wednesday. The sixth generation of the marque, it is the first to boast three model options - modern, sport and luxury. Longer and wider than previous generation three-series, the latest in the classic's 37-year history features an eight-speed transmission.

BMW 3 Series, has increased in length (+93mm), width (front +37mm, rear +47mm) and wheelbase (+50mm) compared with the predecessor model, giving the car a more athletic shape.

The cockpit wraps around the driver and ensures that all-important functions are within easy reach. There is greater leg space for drivers and more room for passengers in the rear seat. The new design elements that brand the car as a sport option include a new BMW face, with flat headlights reaching as far as the BMW kidney grille.

A choice of three powerful engines is available: The 335i 6-cylinder, the 328i and the 320i 4-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The TwinPower Turbo technology is available on all three-engine options in the new BMW 3 Series.

The cars incorporate BMW's EfficientDynamics technology in the shape of the new Driving Experience Control switch. It comes with four driving programs between sporty, ultra sporty, comfortable and extremely economical driving.

Power reaches the rear drive transmission through an eight-speed automatic gearbox (in the premium mid-size range) that makes the new 3 Series more economical and lower in pollutant emissions, compared with the predecessor model.

Anees Abdeljaleel Jamjoom, MD, Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors (BMW), said that within each model option customers could choose a number of exclusive finishes and equipment variants to suit their taste. "The car is beautiful not only to look at but also to drive.  We are certain the car will prove popular among car enthusiasts in Saudi Arabia."
