AdmiralCloud FAQ

What is changing in general?

If your AHK has switched to Admiral Cloud, you will no longer be able to upload images or files to the filelist in the TYPO3 Backend (exception are the microsites, here the switch to AdmiralCloud will take place next year). All your images and files on the website have been migrated to Admiral Cloud. The upload or download of AdmiralCloud to your website takes place via an interface in the backend.

How do I log on to AdmiralCloud?

Your TYPO3 user name and your TYPO3 e-mail address are valid as access data to AdmiralCloud. Please contact the AHK support if you cannot access AdmiralCloud via this data.

What is the difference between an "AC Power User" and an "AC Editor"?

For each AHK, the DIHK appointed one so-called "AdmiralCloud-Poweruser". This person has extended rights. Among other things, she can also log in directly on the AdmiralCloud website via her TYPO3 access data and use the possibilities of the Cloud there. This is explicitly explained on the page "AdmiralCloud for Power Users". more

The AdmiralCloud editor only has access to AdmiralCloud via the interface in the TYPO3 Backend. There are basic features available.

Work with AdmiralCloud

Upload images and files to AdmiralCloud

When clicking on any backend module, two new buttons named "AdmiralCloud" and "Upload AdmiralCloud" now appear at the place where you could normally see the access to the filelist. When you click on "Upload AdmiralCloud" the Admiral Cloud interface opens directly and you can edit your images and files.

What do I have to consider when uploading videos in the AdmiralCloud?

To upload video files, use only videos with very good quality.
The following data can be used as a guideline:

Resolution: 720p HD
Video bit rate: 6 Mbit/s
In addition, you could also choose VBR (variable bitrate) as compression method. This will further degrade the file without any great loss of quality.

Insert images and files from AdmiralCloud into any element in TYPO3

To add images and files from AdmiralCloud, please open or create the element in the TYPO3 backend where you want to add images or files. Then please go to the button "Admiral Cloud". The Cloud will open and you can now select and insert the picture or file. Please have a look at the video:

Edit uploaded images in TYPO3

It may happen that you want to upload images to TYPO3 and then edit the images afterwards. This works quite simply. Open the uploaded image in the TYPO3 backend and go to Image Cropping for Admiracloud >> Open Editor. This brings you back to AdmiralCloud and you can crop the image again.

Edit metadata in AdmiralCloud

You can edit the metadata for all images migrated to AdmiralCloud and all new images at any time. Note: Metadata entered in AdmiralCloud is transferred to the website once an hour. Therefore there may be some time delays here. Please watch the video for more information:

Removing image information from the website

We have migrated all your images and files to Admiral Cloud. If your website now displays unwanted additional information such as picture headlines, you can easily fix this. To do this, please open the element on the website and tick the boxes for the content that you do not want to be displayed. Alternatively, you can also enter your own text here.

Search for files/find existing images

All old folders were assigned as tags to the image. For example, the image

ahk.de/fileadmin/AHK_Ungarn/Fotos/Kampagnen/Arbeit_und_Familie/20190131duihk-1.jpg

the tags "photos, campaigns, work and family".

And that way, you can search for it through the Admiral's Cloud:

filehub.admiralcloud.com/v5/deliverFile/346831f1-7f08-4853-9c50-7cfef335e2e0

Of course, new tags can also be assigned to new images. So tagging is the replacement for working with folders.
