Creating and using tags

In the new Media Asset Management System Admiral Cloud, tags help to sort and categorize your media. The easier and more plausible a tag is, the better it can be used across teams. Here are a few tips for the right use.

Important: The tag ALWAYS refers to the respective image, document, video or audio (so-called media container). WHERE the image is embedded is less relevant for administration in Admiral Cloud, as well as in TYPO3.

Do's and Dont's (when creating new tags)

  • The most common keywords in the AHK network have already been set up (see overview on the right). Before creating a new keyword, please check if the term does not already exist
  • Terms from the overview on the right have been set up in German and English
  • Is a keyword suitable as a tag? Then it should be able to cover up to 50 media or recurring events without any problems. Individual tags for a small number of media are not useful.
  • New tags should only be created for proper names of persons, events and publications.
  • A media container should always be assigned at least two tags from different groups, e.g. [Event] [2019].
  • Please create new tags consisting of several words without underscores, but with spaces between names and terms
  • When creating please note the color code (see right)
  • As word form please always use the singular (exception: members/members)
  • Does a tag not fit 100% of the wording? Consider whether alternative terms are possible before you create a slightly modified version (e.g. [job exchange] and [jobs] or [wind power] and [wind energy])
  • Tags exist only in English and German for better network compatibility. Other languages are less optimal for cross-team use. The output depends on the language setting of the Admiral Cloud Backend of the respective user
  • No tag combinations (Event_2019) are set, but only single keywords [Event] [2019]; If tags tempt to use underscores, this is a sure sign that keywords are to be created separately
  • No tags by numbers or exact dates, the latter is already stored in the meta information. Use the possibilities of the extended filter: Filter the filter search (funnel symbol) by production years or use the extended search for production data.
