Two-Klick Solution for Cookie Consent Banner

Initial situation

At the latest with the Munich court ruling of 20.01.2022, the integration of third-party web services is not permitted without the active consent of the website user. A description and more detailed explanation can be found here (German text).

Only the integration of Google Fonts directly addressed in the trial is affected by the ruling, but the dynamic integration of any content of third-party websites.

There are HTML contents on the various pages of the AHKs that can potentially dynamically load contents of third-party websites. A request for permission from the user, as required by the ruling, does not currently take place.

Project goal

The aim of the project is to fulfil the requirements of the court ruling for the HTML content concerned. For this purpose, the Cookie Consent Banner is supplemented in such a way that the user can allow or reject the inclusion of this content (two-click solution). If the user refuses, the HTML elements are not loaded and a placeholder is displayed instead.

Procedure

The user calls up any page of the AHKs and the Cookie Consent banner appears directly with an additional toggle for the approval or rejection of "foreign content" (all content elements of the type "HTML", e.g. with iframes).

Case 1

The user consents and all foreign content is displayed normally on the page.

Case 2

The user declines and a placeholder is displayed wherever foreign content is included on the page. The placeholder contains the following notice:

"Attention: display of content not possible. Please allow the display of third-party content in Consent Management in order to display the content. Your end device will then establish a connection to the content provider. In any case, your IP address will be processed by the provider. The provider may also monitor your behaviour and build usage profiles, possibly outside the EEA. Insofar as you do not wish other content to be displayed, you must then deactivate the setting in Consent Management."

The user can then click on the "Change settings" button. The Cookie Consent banner is then called up again, in which the user can allow the third-party content. As soon as he clicks on "Allow", the page is reloaded and all third-party content is now displayed.

Here we also need your active help!

We need your active help in translating the texts into the respective languages used on your websites.

The texts of the foreign content for translation in German and English can be found here.

The translations can be uploaded to the following public area of Admiral Cloud until 14th Oktober.

For those AHKs that do not send us their translations in time, German and English will be provided as standard languages. However, it is of course possible to add translations at any time.

Important note: Please name files in a clearly recognisable way so that we can read which language they are in (e.g. "AHK_Spain_Translation_Spanish").

The data protection information for AHK websites must be adapted

The privacy information must be adapted according to the new Cookie Consent Banner on each AHK website till 14th of Oktober 2022.
